Mammal Wildlife Monitoring is crucial to the biodiversity and overall health of our river valley. There are many ways Meewasin monitors mammals, from bat surveys to trail cameras. But in order to support this data, wildlife tracking in the winter becomes important.
We use survey methods such as track photography and GPS coordination along with track imagery and documenting scat throughout the winter months.
Join naturalists from Meewasin to identify and document tracks of animals in relatively unexplored natural areas within the City of Saskatoon. Depending on snow conditions, you may want to bring snowshoes or cross country skis. All other equipment, such as rulers and field guides, are provided by Meewasin.
