This summer, get outside in nature and have tons of fun with Meewasin EcoAdventure Camps at Beaver Creek Conservation Area!
Camps are geared towards 8-12 year old campers and run 6 hours in length from 10am-4pm from Wednesdays-Fridays on select weeks in July and August! These 3-day camps include daily guided adventure hikes exploring the unique habitats and diverse ecosystems of Beaver Creek, wild encounters with flora and fauna including the resident Black-capped Chickadees, engaging experiential crafts and activities and so much more related to the chosen adventure theme of the week!
CAMP THEME 1: Creek Creativity
July 13-15 OR Aug 10-12, 2022
Campers will connect with the natural world through a creative lens during this week of camps! Using their wild senses on guided sensory hikes, campers will draw inspiration from the sights and sounds of Beaver Creek and use natural tools to create artistic wonder-pieces, explore the basics of making music and song writing and participate in nature mindfulness to discover the quiet and vibrant micro-world of the undergrowth and so much more!
CAMP THEME 2: Wayfinding & Wanderings
July 20-22 OR Aug 17-19, 2022
Campers will connect with the natural world through a technology lens during this week of camps! Hike different trails at Beaver Creek and learn about the exciting new ways technology is creating a bigger, better picture of the natural world! Using nature navigation tools, campers will search for nature clues to predict weather and wayfind, explore nature apps to become citizen scientists and learn how technology is used to track and identify birds, bats, and other wildlife and how to create built habitat through wildlife friendly gardens and so much more!
